I’ve been an absentee blogger lately, but with very good reason – I assure you. I’ve had other, more wonderful things going on that have distracted me from…pretty much everything.
Yes, the rumors are true: Stephen and I got engaged on Sunday! (!!!!!) It looks like December 1st will be The Big Day. I was thinking 6 months sounded like a decent amount of time to plan a wedding, when someone opened my eyes to the fact that it’s only 5 months. That’s okay though – it will all come together and even if everything at the wedding isn’t perfect, we’ll still be just as married and that’s the whole point.
You should see me: I’m practically glowing! You should see my ring, too: it is literally glowing.
Jonah McCartney Shipp was born today around 12:45. Mom & baby are doing well. I wish I was there with them, but I'll have to settle for pictures, just like everybody else. You can see him here.
I don't know what my deal is lately, but I just can't seem to get myself in gear. I realized earlier this week just how much I've been neglecting things that I used to do and that I used to enjoy doing. So, I started this week with good intentions, and I guess I have been somewhat productive around the house (cleaning and --get this-- cooking!), read some (which I haven't been doing since I got home from Thailand), and exercised more (which I've been slacking on).
I always have fond thoughts of summertime, as if life becomes much more leisurely and easy-going, but that's not really true is it? It's just the same as the rest of the year, only hotter. The same things need to be done, the same hours still need to be worked. Still, there's something nice about it.
