Last week, nothing seemed to be coming together for me: the wedding invitations I had ordered almost a month ago were still wrong after several proofs, the wedding bands ordered a month ago were not in yet (which wouldn't have been so bad except my engagement ring was at the jewelers for over 5 weeks and I missed it!), and then the plumbing at my house was going crazy. Add to that the seemingly endless flight to LA last weekend - including a layover in Atlanta (conveniently not located between Louisiana and California), a half-mile run through the Atlanta airport in high heels, a 45 minute wait on the tarmac at LAX, and luggage that didn't make the connection in ATL...it was a long week.
Thankfully, things are looking up this week. The plumbing was fixed over the weekend and today, I finally got the proof for the invitations. They're still not exactly to my liking, but I don't have another 10 days to wait for another proof, then wait for them to be printed. Hopefully, I'll have them in my hands next week. I also got the rings in today and the lady at the post office was nice enough to tell me where to come after the window was closed so I could get them today instead of waiting until tomorrow. My band is exactly what I wanted, too, which is great considering the fact that I only described it to the jeweler in an e-mail.
I also decided to treat myself to a pedicure today. I've been telling myself I would get one when my toes had recovered from January's marathon. We'll they're still not quite back to normal, but I decided today was the day. The last time I had a pedicure was when Emily was expecting Samson (three years ago?)...it's been a while and my feet needed it. What a luxury.
I'm off to LA one more time on Friday, then Stephen and I have to somehow make it 5 weeks without seeing each other. This will not be fun. I'll try not to think about that now and just enjoy the weekend.
Almost three years?! I wouldn't be able to stand it. It's been two months since my last pedi, and my feet are practically screaming for attention.
So how much does it suck to finally get to LA, where you know Stephen is patiently waiting, and they keep you on the runway for 45 precious minutes? Hope the next journey is smoother.

You should take a piture of your rings so I can see what they look like, since you have so much time on your hands these day;-) 5 WEEKS!! That totally blows! Been there done that and it's no fun. I'll be praying for you both to make it threw. Just keep thinking in the back of your mind that it'll be all worth it in the end:-)
