My boss and I take turns taking off early on Friday's. It's an unspoken rule and is not always kept. Today is not my turn. I love The Friday Rule when it's my turn, but it's lonely in here when she's gone and I know I'll soon see all the other people who work on this floor making their early exits and I'll be the only one whose conscience won't let them sneak out before 5 o'clock. Bankers leave early on Friday. That's just how it works. It's not a rule and it's probably frowned upon by The Man, but it always works out that way. I'll cheer up soon. I'm in the home stretch (and I'm earning overtime).
