Obsession

I am obsessed with:

drinking 8 glasses of water every day, making sure the doors are deadbolted at night, my credit score, coffee, gray hair, running faster and further, finding the perfect black shoes, checking my e-mail, checking weather.com (even though I sit right beside the window), how many miles I get out of a tank of gas, the perfect mixed CD, being single, fresh mozzarella, deja vu, reading blogs that irritate me, the perfect blue pen, being married, sleeping until the very last moment I have to get up, Target, turquoise (the color, not necessarily the stone), tulips, crossing things off my list, doing better tomorrow.

I appreciate your honesty.

But what we really want to know is, what are you compulsive about?

Posted by: Papa at March 11, 2005 02:36 PM

Checking my alarm clock at least twice and making sure the bedroom door and closet doors are shut all the way before I go to sleep, to name a few.

How can you be obsessed with "being single" and "being married" at the same time?

Christin, how far do you run? And what prompted you to start?

Being single/being married: both have their advantages/disadvantages, so I am enjoying the benefits of being single, but wanting the benefits of being married.

I run between 4 and 10 miles 3 to 5 days a week. (Most days I shoot for 6 miles). I started out walking a couple of miles about a year and a half ago so I could get in shape, and though I'm still not in the shape I want to be in, I'm going to just keep pushing it until I am and even then, I still intend to run because now I enjoy it (which is something I never thought I'd say).

Way to go. When I first started running my senior year in high school, I hated it. I did it because I didn't want to get to basic training and be the slow one. I got in shape, realized I liked being in shape, and never stopped running. Oh, I've stopped for a month or two here and there, but there is something so enjoyable to me about just running when the world is still asleep, or just waking up, that I can't express to someone that hasn't seen it. I only run between 3 and 5 miles...3 to 5 times a week as well. If you can continue to do it, you'll find thay you'll feel better, rest better, and just be healthier. Kudos to you milady.
I think that's my longest comment ever on your blog.
